$748,000 in Grants Available for Noxious Weed Management Projects
The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) is now accepting grant applications to distribute $748,000 in funding to counties, municipalities, conservation districts, and non-profit organizations and associations for projects that focus on controlling the state’s designated noxious weeds. The 2022 Noxious Weed Management Grants combine the Noxious Weed Fund and State and Private Forestry funds.
CDA Summarily Suspends Shelter in Colorado Springs for Failure to Treat and Isolate Sick Dogs
The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA), through the Pet Animal Care and Facilities Act (PACFA) program, has summarily suspended the license of, and issued a cease and desist order to New Hope Rescue, Inc., an animal shelter facility in Colorado Springs. These actions require New Hope Rescue to immediately suspend all licensed activities related to the care of pet animals, including adoption, importation, transfer, foster, and any other action typically taken by a shelter or rescue.

Governor’s Budget Proposal Includes Funds to Preserve Agriculture in Republican and Rio Grande River Basins
The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) joined together in strong support of $15,000,000 “high impact” stimulus funds in Governor Polis’ FY 2022-2023 budget to preserve agriculture, meet interstate river compact obligations, and reduce rural economic impacts in the Republican and Rio Grande River basins .
CDA Seeks Input on Climate-Smart Agriculture Plan
